Half Dome from Olmsted PointBehind the Image Tioga Road closes each winter, buried under snow and silence. Each summer, when it finally reopens, I make the drive to check in with the high country. I go to see how it weathered the season, and to note whats changed and what hasnt. I made this photograph during one of those first drives in, back in 2013. The light that evening was gentle.
