Hardy St. George 3" Fly Reel - Three Screw LatchFor sale here is a great example of the Hardy St. George 3 inch fly reel with three screw latch from the late 1920s early 1930s. All original and in excellent condition throughout. Ribbed brass foot and duplicated MKII check. The reel is very tight mechanically, no issues to disclose. No cracks. Dark brown agate line guide has two hairline cracks that you can hardly feel. One end of the original and full length reel foot has a tiny chip. Wonderful
Ferrules are tight and all sections straight
Most preferred by a six weight line

A nice HL Leonard "Standard" 51-7 fly rod
The varnish shows very minor signs of prior softening but remains fine throughout
The aluminum tube has the original Winston sticker
Slide band reel seat over a tiger maple spacer
good click and full length
The rod was refinished in 1982 by Hoagy Carmichael
Shaft varnish is 99% with a few tiny chips
Triple matted with spacers between the mats to enhance the shadowbox effect
varnish is excellent with no marks or nicks
