though three previous samples were marred by an overt musty edge
with notes of lead pencil shavings
Note that the structure is almost completely resolved
The wine is full-bodied and dense with moderately high tannin
quite elegant and complex
This is definitely a "buy and forget you own it" wine as I would advise not touching a bottle for at least 10 years and 15 to 20 would likely be better
The level of new wood and menthol are borderline intrusive and while it does not dominate the underlying fruit of poached plum and cassis
The élevage lasted 16 months and was mostly in oval Stockinger 2
volume and concentrated power to the caressing yet serious medium weight plus flavors that display very fine length on the dusty and youthfully austere finale
