Lot 221 - Antique Burmese Hintha Bird Figural Covered Container with Repousse Feather and Scroll Decoration, 5" HAntique Burmese hintha bird figural covered container. The hintha, a mythical bird from Burmese Buddhist tradition, is rendered with an open beak, flame like crest, scalloped feather and scale patterning on the body, and an upswept ornamental tail. The head and upper body serve as the lid, lifting to reveal a hollow interior. The base is supported on broad webbed feet. The interior base has a split or hole. Overall tarnish and surface wear throughout.

Presented in a half leatherette union case with ornate brass mat
