Vernaculaire ShelfBelonging to a group called Les Vernaculaires, the frame shapes of these pieces are inspired by traditional regional furniture from Savoie and the Western Alps. This formal design language has largely been abandoned in favor of mass produced industrial furniture from large chains. I revive these forgotten and sidelined forms using a contemporary vocabulary.

The quality of light is soft and contained

in order to enhance the natural texture and coloration of the clay

Due to the use of raw aluminum in the construction of ALU 01

The tripod and base are produced using 3D printing with a bio-based filament

but cannot withstand liquids above 50 degrees and strong chemical liquids

After exploring various possibilities

which rests on a joint in the base and is balanced by its own weight

recovered from an old boat dock in Castellón de la Plana
