Bogdan Unique and Early Prototype Salmon Fly ReelFor sale here is a very historically important fishing reel. One of Stanley Bogdan's early prototype salmon reels. Single action (no multiplier). Right hand retrieve. Likely made in the late 1940's or early 1950s. The reel is in excellently preserved condition. No structural issues exist, just some slight spool rub while winding. The frame is made of aluminum and potentially includes an early attempt at anodization. The sideplates are made of ebonite

Medium cigar grip and nice all cork grip

The script is as bright and bold as the day it was written and includes the original owners' name along with the usual rod specifics

This is a super-functional reel that surely will satisfy its next owner

Includes a yellow rod bag modeled after those used in the 1980's with hang tag as well as a fine tube with brass fittings

with the typical S-style handle

The full wells grip measures 6 1/2" in length with moderate soiling
