Sardine Gyotaku Print

Sardine Gyotaku PrintSardines make a lovely print. However they are pretty tricky to deal with. They easily split open and leak oil over the print so getting the pressure right is important. The print is blue and green largely with a bit of iridescent gold. I have used premium quality acrylic ink. The fish eye is hand painted after printing. It is signed by myself, Jane Evans as well as using my hanko stamp, the traditional method of marking artwork in Japan. This A4

Gyotaku process sees ink applied to the surface of the specimen and then paper is pressed onto the surface making an impression

I have used premium quality black acrylic ink

I've used a high quality blue and gold acrylic ink for this print that is both light fast and permanent

Measuring around 29x21cm this will fit into an off the shelf A4 frame
